The substantial velvet sits nicely flat, creating a beautiful foundation for arranging crystals and creating your own crystal grid.

The rich forest green and gold combination gives this piece a luxurious appearance, while the upholstery velvet provides a practical surface for placing your crystals. The fabric does not fray, and you can trim it further if you would like to create a particular size or shape for your space.

⬡ Sri Yantra Symbolism

The Sri Yantra, also known as Shri Yantra or Sri Chakra, is an ancient sacred geometry design associated with Hindu and Tantric traditions. Traditionally, people use the Sri Yantra as a visual focus for meditation, contemplation and spiritual practice.

The design features nine interlocking triangles surrounding a central point known as the bindu. This central point represents a place of focus, while the surrounding geometry expands outward from it.

Four triangles point upwards and five point downwards. Together, these triangles represent the union and balance of complementary masculine and feminine principles.

Lotus petals surround the triangles, traditionally representing creation, life and spiritual unfolding. Around them, an outer square enclosure features four openings, symbolising gateways into the sacred space.

The Sri Yantra also carries traditional associations with abundance, prosperity, harmony, balance and spiritual awareness. For this reason, it can be an especially meaningful design for crystal grids centred around prosperity, manifestation, personal growth or spiritual intention.

However, these associations do not limit how you use the design. You may simply feel drawn to the Sri Yantra itself, or choose to create a grid around an entirely different intention.

My lovely friend Storm screen prints these newer Sacred Geometry Altar Cloths here in Napier, New Zealand.

We hand cut each piece of upholstery velvet into an approximately square shape, taking care to centre the Sri Yantra design as closely as possible. Because we cut each cloth by hand, the finished dimensions and positioning may vary slightly from piece to piece.

These individual variations form part of the handmade character of each altar cloth.

The upholstery velvet sits nicely flat and does not fray. You can also trim the cloth further to suit your own altar, shelf or crystal space.
